Akshardham Temple in Delhi constitutes an important place in Delhi’s tourism. Its structure depicts great Indian civilization and its architecture is immaculate to say the least. The temple is located at national highway (NH) 24, Noida Mor, New Delhi. This remarkable structure comprises of 20,000 statues, flowery decoration and exquisite carved pillars made up of stones.

This stunning structure and masterpiece architecture was built under the support and backing of the Bochasanvasi Aksharpurushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS). The temple was inaugurated on November 7, 2005 by Pramukhswami Maharaj (The Leader of BAPS).

It is built alongside river Yamuna and lies over an area of around 100 acres adorned with beautiful gardens, water fountains and carved pavilions. The temple took entire two years for completion of its construction and a large sum of rupees was invested for the same. According to assessment, about 2 billion was spent in the construction of this masterpiece which undeniably depicts the great Hindu religion.

The architecture and design of Akshardham temple is similar to the one at Gandhinagar situated in Gujarat. The central monument at the temple is about 141 feet high with a beautiful statue of Lord Swaminarayan. There are a range of structures inside the temple which portray the history and culture of Hindu Religion.
